The Muse Team is a collective group that believes in good hair, believable hair and lived in healthy hair. We are here for you. We are here to make new connections, have positive vibes and create a laid back environment in a luxury setting for you. We are highly educated, participating in monthly trainings and will work together to give you the hair of your dreams.
Kelsey Jahnke
Owner, Leader and Extensionist
Kelsey is the lead stylist, owner, CEO, curator, mentor, and whatever other hat you can give her for Salon Muse. After searching for an extension method to bring to her blonde clients, she found Danielle K White, the creator of Natural Beaded Rows. She spent two years going back and forth to Laguna Beach, California, to specialize in Natural Beaded Rows to bring the best hair extension method back to British Columbia.
Since then she has furthered her extension knowledge with taking several other courses including:
Invisible Bead Extensions, The Mane Method, Thrivers Society, Luxury Stylist via Lo Wheeler Davis, Loreal Education, Shadowing world renown artists, Keratin Bond Training in NYC and most recently completing her training with Mesh Integration.
On top of being behind the chair she has trained over a dozen artists on Vancouver Island on how to do extensions to give their clients a better extension experience.
Kelsey is passionate about giving her clients authentic, healthy hair that moves so naturally and effortlessly no one will suspect you’re wearing extensions!
Emily Soufane
Lead Stylist + Extensionist
Emily has been with Salon Muse for almost 8 years. She is a color expert and extensionist. Emily would describe herself as funny and says she’s a “cool mom”.
If you are in need of a color correction, lived in blonde or a dimensional bronde – emily has you covered in all areas. She is a wiz with colour.
When Emily isnt at muse you can find her in vancouver visiting family, galavanting around the city and doing photoshoots.

Alexa Mitchell
Lead Stylist + Extensionist
Alexa is our lead stylist, master at color corrections, blonding and extensions. Alexa specializes in platinum blonding and when her clients started asking about extensions she learnt the Muse Method in 2022.
Alexa is easy to chat with, she loves baking, trying out new restaurants and travelling the world.
When Alexa isnt behind the chair you can find her with her husband Aaron and her many animals.

Selena Babuin
Lead Stylist + Extensionist
Hey, Im Selena!
I am born and raised here in Nanaimo. I went to Vancouver Island University for hairdressing in 2011 and have been working behind the chair ever since!
I started out doing all the things and over the years found my passion for mega blonding and hair extensions.
After starting my hair extension education in Bellami methods I eventually went on to take an extension course from Kelsey back in 2022. After working at a few different salons in Nanaimo I joined the Muse team in 2023 to further my education with hair extensions.
People would describe me as funny, bubbly and I hope to see you in my chair!

Amanda Chapman

Hey I’m Amanda!
Some of you may remember me from when Muse first opened back in 2018. I was always Kelseys client my entire teenage life and I knew when I went to Aveda hair school I wanted to work with her. I left Muse for a few years when I had my daughter and returned in 2024.
I am a well versed stylist in all forms of color, cutting and bridal styling.
When I am not behind the chair I am a full time mama to my daughter Addison.

Hey, Im Hannah!
Originally from Victoria I moved to Nanaimo several years ago and graduated from the VIU Hair Program in 2023. I joined Muse in 2024 after wanting to find somewhere that hones in on education.
I apprenticed under our owner for nearly two years to expand on my skillset before taking a full time position on the floor.
People tend to say I’m very easy going, warm and have a bubbly personality. I truly love to connect with people and chat with all my clients.
When I am not at muse you can find me taking a pilates class, reading (fantasy addict), taking weekend trips or at the occasional music festival.
I cant wait to meet you and welcome you into my chair 🙂

Hey I’m Leah!
I joined Muse in 2024 after graduating hair school and I wanted to find somewhere that really hones in on education.
I am currently the girl behind the desk, assisting stylists and taking clients on weekends.
I am still currently seeing what my specialty will be but currently even though I have black hair, I love doing blondes.
I am looking forward to growing my clientele and making genuine connections with all of you.
When I am not behind the chair you can find me exploring all the beauty Vancouver Island has to offer with my partner, Hunter and my dog Nala.

Hey, Im Zoelle!
I am born and raised here in Nanaimo. I went to Vancouver Island University for hairdressing in 2022 and have loved being behind the chair ever since.
I have a passion for everything blonde and extensions, and I love helping my clients feel confident in their hair.
Outside of the salon, I’m always working on something creative. I love sewing, baking, crafting, and I’m always finding a new hobby or project to dive into. I’m also a proud cat mom to my two fur babies, boots and bean, who keep life entertaining.
